No Superpowers Necessary
The UK & Ireland SAP User Group’s annual conference is running from November 18- 20 at the Manchester Central convention center in England. The event is built around the key theme, “No superpowers. Just knowledge, network and technology.”
“For 24 years now, the SAP User Group UKI has been adding value for SAP customers by providing them with information and facilities to network and exchange knowledge,” explains Craig Dale, CEO of the UK & Ireland SAP User Group. “This not only ensures that its members have best practice, it also gives them an independent voice and the possibility to express any concerns. The user group thus provides a platform for members to influence SAP and drive the future development of products and services.”
The event will be opened by the user group’s chairman, Alan Bowling. A highlight of this year’s conference will be keynote speaker Ray Wang, who is there by popular request. Within the plenary session, visitors can see the latest solutions developed by SAP partners in the demo jams. New to the event is a closing presentation by John Knell based on his book, “The 80 Minute MBA: Everything You’ll Never Learn at Business School”. The session is free of charge to all attendees.
Also new are the interactive workshops, where delegates can get closer to speakers and engage more effectively with experts. Topics include license optimization (Ray Wang) and social media. Throughout the event, streams will be running, covering areas such as ALM (Application Lifecycle Management), Financial Excellence, Risk Management, Business Transformation, BusinessObjects, Business Analytics, HR (Human Resources) and Supply Chain Management.
77 quality partners will be in the exhibition area, allowing delegates to network with them. In fact, networking is possible in most areas of the conference, but the gala dinner is considered to be the most popular way of relaxing, enjoying and networking.
“We need to keep an eye on not only what’s happening now, but what is likely to happen in the future,” says Dale. The programme is designed to help delegates understand what is happening at SAP and how they can leverage the latest innovations and add value to their business. Topics include mobile, HANA and cloud computing. A test-drive wall will give visitors a hands-on experience with the latest SAP technology. Visitors also need not worry about missing any events: the entire conference schedule will be available on the conference app.
