Partnership for Strong Markets

By: NTT Data/itelligence AG

The new partnership of NTT Data and itelligence AG creates powerful synergies between the Japanese and German corporations. Completed on January 2008, the fusion is helping both businesses dismantle old barriers to new markets in Asia, Europe and North America.

Japan’s IT industry has grown steadily between 1995 and 2005. According to the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), the compound annual growth rate was 5.4 percent during this decade, and it is expected to continue at the same astoundingly healthy pace.

NTT Data sees this solid growth trend as an opportunity to expand its market to other sectors. “The public sector, financial services and industrials are traditionally our strongest sectors,” explains Takashi Enomoto, Executive Vice President NTT Data. “With itelligence and its SAP expertise, we will be able to expand our footprint in the areas of manufacturing and assembly processes. This market offers tremendous potential,” affirms Enomoto.

At the same time, NTT Data targets not only the Japanese market but also wants to strengthen its position abroad. Still earning 99 percent of its revenue in Japan, the partnership with itelligence is crucial for NTT Data’s growth strategy, as it allows an extension of its presence in Europe in North America.

Beside this, the new strong partnership benefits both sides: itelligence with its more than 1,200 highly qualified employees in 15 countries − such as the UK, Spain and Switzerland in Western Europe; Poland and Russia in Eastern Europe; and the USA − is focused primarily on the SME market.

Backed up by the partnership, itelligence will now reach major customers with global SAP ERP implementations and find open doors in the Far East. “Our partnership with NTT Data will support our organic growth and allow us to offer customers in Asia a full range of SAP solutions for their businesses,” says itelligence CEO Herbert Vogel. “This represents an enormous growth opportunity for both companies.”
