Use and Purpose of Collected Personal Data

On our websites, we only store personal information relating to you with your permission. You may choose to reveal information to us if, for example, you register or complete a survey.

We would only share such information with third parties outside the SAP group with your express permission or as required by the applicable law. Information is used solely for the purposes described below.

SAP Privacy Statement

  1. What Information Do We Collect and Why?

IP Addresses: We use IP addresses to help diagnose problems, to administer our website, and to gather demographic information. When you visit our site, we recognize only your domain name and not your e-mail address. We will see your e-mail address only if you give it to us by filling out a form or by sending us an e-mail message.

Google Analytics: This website uses Google Analytics, a Web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (”Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies,” which are text files placed on your computer to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators, and providing other services relating to website activity and Internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however, please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. By using this website, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above.

Cookies: We use cookies to deliver personalized content, to save you having to re-enter your password repeatedly, and to tailor our information offerings to how you and others use the site.

User registration: If you choose to register, we can send you requested information or products. We will also ask you for further personal data (company name, industry, department, country, and your relationship to SAP). Providing this information is voluntary. It will only be used for statistical purposes.

E-Mail Addresses: If you choose to give us your e-mail address, we will communicate with you via e-mail. We will only share your e-mail address with others outside the SAP group of companies for the purpose of performing the requested service. You can choose not to receive any more e-mail about SAP.info and/or SAP SPECTRUM at any time.

Depending on how your e-mail application is set up, information about you may be transmitted automatically when you send e-mail to SAP. SAP will also treat this confidentially.

Mailing address: You can also provide us with your mailing address in addition to your e-mail address. We will use your mailing address for the sole purpose of sending you the printed special issues of SAP SPECTRUM (print subscription). We will not share your mailing address with third parties outside of the SAP Group. If you no longer want to receive printed special issues of SAP SPECTRUM, you may cancel your print subscription at any time.

Online Surveys: Our surveys may ask you for demographic information, such as postal codes or your industry sector. If the online survey collects contact data, we may use that data to send you further information only if we specifically asked for your permission in the survey. You are free to retract any permission you gave. Otherwise, we will only use the demographic and personal information for statistical purposes.

  2. Links to Other Sites

This site contains links to other sites. SAP is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of other websites.

  3. Choice/Opt-Out

You can opt out of receiving e-mail communications about SAP.info and/or SAP SPECTRUM from us whenever you like. Likewise, you can opt out from the print subscription for special issues of SAP SPECTRUM at any time. You only need to e-mail us or use the registration page on our Web site to have your name and details removed from the relevant distribution list or SAP Web registration database. Registered users can modify their user profile settings to opt out at any time.
