Getting closer to channel partners

With the 5-Star award, the SAP PartnerEdge program, which was introduced in 2005, gained particular recognition for its partner-centric structure, as well as for the efforts that SAP puts into successful collaboration.

Everything Channel’s Institute for Partner Education & Development (IPED) analyzed 130 provider programs by asking detailed questions in the six following categories:

  • Sales support
  • Marketing support
  • Partner profitability
  • Channel operations
  • Partner communications
  • Partner recruitment

The Institute then evaluated the answers given by the providers.

Innovative points system praised

Everything Channel

Everything Channel is the world’s leading channel for IT and technology. With its online platforms Channel Web.com and EverythingChannel.com, plus CRN magazine, the company provides strategic business information and tools to support the sellers of technology in their endeavors to achieve measurable and significant results.

SAP PartnerEdge made a great impression with its innovative points system that gives all partners equal opportunities. Participating companies are classified according to their competencies, commitment, and sales performance. Depending on how many points they have, they receive the partner status Associate, Silver, or Gold. Assigned to each of these levels are benefits and services that become progressively more comprehensive. These include, for example, sales and marketing support, education and training, and technical support.

Other winning factors were the program’s many benefits and the wide range of partner communication resources, such as the partner welcome kit and the SAP Channel Partner Portal.

Ira Simon, vice president, SME Internal/Channel Partner Communications at SAP, says, “We’re very proud of this award. Having a partner-centric program is an ongoing process, which we fine-tune with partner feedback all the time. This award from Everything Channel confirms that we are on the right track in all our efforts from partner recruitment to partner communications.”

But SAP PartnerEdge wasn’t the only winner: The SAP BusinessObjects solution provider program for partners who offer customized solutions also gained the highest honors for its strength and partner commitment. For more information, see the new issue of CRN magazine.
