Given the latest developments in the financial service industry and the consequent challenges it faces, the number of networked and specialized service providers is rising. The tailored service packages previously offered by banks are increasingly becoming the responsibility of service providers that mass-deliver standardized services using industrial-like processes. Traditional and outdated application landscapes are unable to effectively support these diverse requirements. A service architecture enables banking processes to be mapped in software applications. At the 5th Value Chain Forum in October in St. Gallen, Switzerland, “The Networked Bank of 2015” workshop will explore the advantages and disadvantages of various approaches.
