Payment reminders and lost cash discounts were the negative consequences of decentralized invoice processing at Linde Gas Germany, one of Europe’s leading gas suppliers. The companies that belong to the Linde Group receive more than 140,000 invoices every year, most of which used to be processed locally. The problem: They would sometimes remain unprocessed for weeks, and Linde headquarters in Pullach, southern Germany, had no overview of which liabilities had been paid and which were still outstanding. However, since implementing a standardized SAP workflow, Linde can now process incoming invoices centrally, quickly, transparently, and cost-effectively.
