SAP BusinessObjects Explorer

Digging for Data

With SAP BusinessObjects Explorer, information workers can create meaningful graphics from a seemingly infinite number of data records. And they don’t need special training – all it takes is just a few clicks.

SAP BusinessObjects Explorer, by accessing SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse Accelerator, (SAP NetWeaver BW Accelerator) enables information workers to search through mountains of business data fast – and present the results clearly and appealingly. The software is due to be released this summer. It is designed to help users get results quickly and easily – even if they have no prior knowledge of data analysis. Furthermore, organizations can deploy it across numerous enterprise areas.

The version of SAP BusinessObjects Explorer presented at SAPPHIRE 2009 is aimed at companies already using SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse. With this combination, all data is stored in the data processing system’s working memory – currently a state-of-the-art capability in business intelligence applications. With this in-memory database, all data can be accessed in a targeted way. Because complex data modeling isn’t required, companies save time and money. The data sources and metadata are indexed on a script basis.

As visitors to SAPPHIRE in Orlando already learned, it’s possible to analyze datasets with up to a billion records. In other words, query performance is up to 100 times faster than with conventional BI applications.
